An attractive straightforward bright purple wine with spicy, minty and floral aromas and fresh berry fruit flavours, silky tannins and vibrant acidity.

Sings loudly where it hails from, a telltale thread of bay leaf and eucalypt very much in evidence. It is without doubt an attractive feature, a potent sense of Central Victorian terroir. Good varietal intensity, too: cassis and black cherry, dried bay leaf, a touch of peppermint, violet, leafy. Sinewy mouthfeel. Fine, edgy tannins are quite pronounced, providing structure and potential for further ageing.
