BEERSHEBA RESERVE CABERNET 2021

Named in honour of Lt Col Maygar, a local farmer who was awarded the Victoria Cross in the Boer War. Maygar led the last 40 men from Gallipoli and died of wounds at the Battle of Beersheba, Palestine, 31 October 1917, far from his beloved farm in the Strathbogie Ranges.

Our small vineyard in the Strathbogie Ranges foothills has exceeded its usual high standard of handcrafting outstanding wine with the production of this flagship cabernet.

Beautiful cherry red colour from very small berries from our small vineyard in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges.

Cropped at under 1 tonne/acre in perfect picking conditions with a bunch of loyal friends, this was to be our last pick from this little block of cabernet and joyous it was.

An elegant wine with true varietal flavours. 25% whole bunch added a beautiful complexity to the moorish flavours. It has a vibrancy that says drink now.

Cellar for 5 to 20 years. Please decant this wine.
